Parties bank on social media, technology to garner support

Published on:

The war between Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party over gaining maximum mileage through social media in the next Parliamentary elections has brought good news for the mobile companies as most of the leaders of two parties were now upgrading themselves with the latest `Smart Phones’.

Interestingly, the competition within the leaders of two parties to come in the eyes of the high-command is so tough that now most of the politicians both in the Congress and BJP officers were seen learning the tricks of the `trade’ to make themselves well conversant with all various kinds of social networking sites, which had now became very common and had maximum numbers of daily followers.Sources said that as soon the Congress `Yuvraj) announced to launch `Khidki’ official social networking sites of the Congress through which they would highlight the achievement and policies of the Central government as well as countering the propaganda made against the Party, most of the Congress leaders here at Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee office as well other parts of the State started to run from pillar to post to use their `connections’ to join the core-team of Rahul Gandhi which is to be entrusted to make `Khidki’ a most lethal weapon for the Party’s campaign in coming Parliament elections.

Similarly in the BJP office also, the news of Narendra Modi being named as prime ministerial candidate has put the local leaders on their toes as they were well aware that how Gujrat chief minister had so far used the social networking site as a successful tool to make the people aware of his agenda and retained the power third time. The saffron brigade activists just like their counterparts in Congress two started their campaign in their own way to get into the team for Party’s campaign through social media.

Sources further campaign that as soon as the workshops started taking place both in Congress as well as in BJP to make the leaders aware of surfing on social networking sites and that how they could use it a important tool for Party’s campaign in the next Parliament elections, the leaders started purchasing latest smart phones just to strengthen their claim for being selected in the core-teams of the two parties respectively. Interestingly, the majority of the leaders had purchased the `smart phones’ but what make funny of them is that they were not aware of it’s uses particularly how to surf through the social networking sites hence one could witness a common scene in both the Party’s offices that leaders were busy learning operation of phones than doing their regular jobs. In Congress office, one of the leader was always seen busy in updating the news item published in the news dailies on the social media networking sites.
