All India Majlis Itthadul Musalmeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi dared Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to join him on a debate over the issues of Kairana and Muzaffarnagar.
Owaisi also challenged the ruling SP leaders for an open debate over the denial of permission to him by the UP government for holding public rally in the state. On the sidelines of a Roja Iftaar at Moradabad on Tuesday, the MIM chief made these statements.
Owaisi alleged that the SP led government of UP was scared of him and his party and that is the reason why the administration did not allow even a single public rally.
”If Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav have courage, then they should come up and debate with me on their illegal action of denying me permission to hold rallies in UP. The SP government should also debate on the Kairana issue too,” said the MIM chief.
“I have made a list of officials who denied permission during the last couple of years. It would be handed over to the Election Commission in 2017 during the UP Assembly polls for ensuring free and fair elections,” he said..
Owaisi charged that the SP and the BJP were the two sides of the same coin. ``Top SP leaders were involved in encroachment on government land in Mathura. The government was forced to evict the squatters only on the orders of Allahabad High Court. To bail out the SP leaders, the BJP cooked up the Kairana issue claiming migration of Hindus from the town,’’ alleged Owaisi.
Reminding CM Akhilesh Yadav of his Socialist credentials, Owaisi said ``Akhilesh is a failed political leader. If he is a true disciple of Ram Manohar lohia and believes in freedom of speech, then he must permit my public meets in UP.’’
“Bajrang Dal has the freedom to impart arms training to youths in UP. The RSS and its affiliates have the freedom to carry out their activities in UP but the state government has singled out my party and denied me permission to address public meetings,’’ said the leader from Hyderabad.
Terming the UP government’s act as a violation of the Constitution, the MIM chief said, “The SP leaders will repent for their actions against me.’’
Asked about the controversial statement of actor Salman Khan that ‘he was feeling like a raped woman’, Owaisi said, “Salman Khan is no a star, I am far bigger star than him.’’
Owaisi said that his party was preparing for the 2017 Assembly polls in UP but was yet to decide on the number of seats to contest. The MIM is seeking to cement the alliance of Muslims and Dalits with the slogan of ‘MIM and Bhim’.
