Facing heat over Saharanpur incident the Yogi Government has blamed the opposition for raking up this issue saying it was trying to give a communal colour to this issue to defame the government.
“The visit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati to Saharanpur was just a vain effort to revive her lost ground after her crushing defeat in the assembly polls. She is just shedding crocodile tears. She will fail to gain her political ground even showing such desperation “, said UP government spokesperson and state health minister Sidharthnath Singh here on Tuesday while commenting on the visit of Mayawati to Saharanpur. Talking to reporters here Singh said that the government was taking stern action against both the groups which clashed in Sabbirpur village and none would be spared. “You can assess the strictness of the government that the accused whether it is the Bheem Army or of the upper caste were denied bail and several others are on the run,” he said while adding that all the guilty have been identified and action would be taken against them in a transparent manner.
Targeting the opposition for trying to defame the government by giving this incident a communal colour the minister said: “They (opposition leaders) should know how to differentiate between a communal and caste clash.” He also denied opposition charge that the government action was delayed in Saharanpur and the police sided with a group. The minister, however, refused to make any comment on the fresh clashes in Saharanpur after the visit of Mayawati. “Our government is very strict on the criminals whosoever will take law in his hand will have to face action,” he said.
When asked about the allegations of Mayawati that she was not allowed to go to Saharanpur by a chopper Singh said that it is the matter of the district authority and he cannot comment on it.
