Oppn slams SP on law, order

Published on:

Opposition Parties took on Samajwadi Party government on law and order front alleging that people were once again going through `Jungle Raj’ where even the policemen, who were responsible to maintain peace, were not safe.
``There in no law and order prevailing in the State. Only criminals and gangsters were having a free time and executing at their will", alleged spokesman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) Dwijendra Tripathi here on Saturday evening. He claimed that whether it was torching a girl during a village panchayat, or several deaths in police custody no one is having any fear for law and order and prime example of it was series of killings of even members of the law enforcing agencies.
``How can Samajwadi Party government or even chief minister Akhilesh Yadav could claim of good governance when their own partymen were patronising criminals",
Dwijendra Tripathi claimed while targeting the Akhilesh Yadav’s government. When even the policemen responsible to maintain law and oder, were not safe in SP’s
regime than what a common man could hope of his safety is a harsh fact, Tripathi added.
Flaying Akhilesh Yadav’s government for deteriorating law and order condition of the State, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders questioned that when the members of law
enforcing agencies were themselves not safe than how they will give protection to others. ``Akhilesh Yadav should tell the public that how he will provide a safe atmosphere to public when members of his own law enforcing agencies were targeted by the criminals’, questioned spokesman  of the BJP,  Dr Manoj Mishra. He claimed that till now the police is protecting the public but it was a million dollor question that who will come to their rescue nowIJ.
Dr Manoj claimed that killing of sub-inspector in Allahabad, along with sensational murders of cops in Saharanpur, Bareilly, and other parts of the State all showed that `Iqbal’ of the `Khakhi’ is no more prevailingin the State in the regime of Samajwadi Party. BJP spokesman also cited the statement of director general of police, Deoraj Nagar in which he said that police force should remain vigilant while  tackling criminals. ``DGP’s statement clearly pointed that cops were now on defensive side as they knew that criminals and gangsters were enjoying power under Akhilesh Yadav’s regime and might strike at their own will", alleged Dr Manoj.  He demanded that State government should immediately take tough measure to re-store the fear of the cops amongst the mind of the criminals otherwise it will be too late.
