The leader of Opposition in State Assembly, Ajay Bhatt also welcomed the President’s step for passing the State lokayukta Act. According to him, the Act would be proved extremely beneficial for keeping a tab on the corrupt officials and public representatives. In a press statement issued by him, Bhatt said that the BJP had sent Act to the President on November 03, 2011 after passing it in the State Assembly. According to him, Uttarakhand has become the first State of the country to pass the most powerful Bill as Chief Minister, public representatives, Government servants would be under jurisdiction of the Bill. Bhatt also cornered the Congress led State Government for not publicising the Bill despite it was passed in the last month.
