A day before the campaigning ends for the first phase of assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, the Hindu mascot of the party Yogi Adityanath fired a saffron salvo saying that only BJP can prevent western UP from turning into another Kashmir.
“The 14 year regime of the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party has gone for appeasement of minorities for the sake of votes. This Akhilesh Yadav government has gone to the extent of creating a record of sort by withdrawing cases against the terrorists because they are Muslims,” Yogi said while addressing reporters here on Wednesday.
Before leaving for his campaign trail he said that only BJP government in UP can save the state from turning into another Kashmir. The Hindus are being persecuted in western UP. The trend is similar to the harassment of Kashmiri pundits who were forced to flee their motherland. “If this trend is not stopped western UP will be turned into another Kashmir,” he said.
Giving details about the exodus of Hindus from west UP, the BJP MP said there are at least over two dozen villages where the exodus is the most.
“The criminalisation has been institutionalised by this SP government with the result they are now running a parallel government. But if BJP comes to power in UP then these criminals will be either in the jail of out of the state,” he said.
The BJP MP said that illegal slaughter house is an important issue of West UP. Even after several direction by National Green Tribunal, Akhilesh Yadav government has refused to take action just to appease the minorities..”BJP will scrap these illegal slaughter houses the day one it comes to power,” he said. Yogi said love Jehad is stilla relevant issue in the west UP. Eve teasing is very rampant and BJP government in UP will end the menace by setting up a anti-romeo task force.
When asked about his views on the temple and the fate of Mathura and Kashi, the Mahant of Goraksh Peth of Gorakhpur admitted that ,” Ram temple will be constructed only by the Ram bhakts. And this will pave the way for Mathura and Kashi.”
Giving reasons for BJP taking up the Triple Talaq issue, he said the party always supported the women empowerment in the country and Muslim population in UP is quite big so how can the party would not speak about their issues.
Refusing to make any comment on UP minister Mohammad Azam Khan on his statement against him, Yogi said ,” he just makes controversial statement just to keep himself alive in media.”
