Minister for Secondary education, Mehboob Ali, is alleged to be giving shelter to a tainted District Inspectors of School, of Hardoi, JP Mishra, even after the latter was transferred by chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav, on charges of corruption. Interestingly, now the minister was also facing a probe into the above matter made by lokayukt Justice (Retd), NK Mehrotra.
Sources said that a school manager of Hardoi district, Bhagat Tejgiri, who filed a complaint against the above two including the minister, had alleged that the minister was involved in irregularities in fixation of examination centers and granting affiliation to the schools through illegal manner with connivance of Mehboob Ali. Tejgiri, provided a transfer order of Mishra, issued by chief minister on August 14 last, but still Mehboob Ali, overlooked that order and
continued with the said tainted officer.
It may be mentioned that Tejgiri, earlier also made a complaint against JP Mishra, along with then minister in Mayawati’s government Rangnath Mishra. In that matter, lokayukt, had found that Mishra had made irregularities and on his recommendation, state government put the Hardoi DIOS under suspension and ordered a probe against him. Tejgiri, alleged that Mehboob Ali, had not just got Mishra’s suspension revoked but also to get him posted at the same place and is not shifted him despite of CM transferring Mishra, after he informed Akhilesh Yadav, of the same.
Sources said that in his complaint, Tejgiri quoted the rates which Mishra collected illegally and later claimed to be passing half of it to the minister. like Hardoi had 300 examination centres for the Board exams so Mishra collected Rs 2 lakh each for allotting the centre, except from 70 self-financed colleges. Besides, the rates are Rs 30,000 per college each for SDM/Zonal Magistrates, Rs 10,000 per college for inspectors, Rs 5000 per college for lakhpals, Rs 5000 per college for sector/zonal magistrates.
To allow cheating, the rates are Rs 10,000 per college for zonal/sector magistrates, Rs 10,000 for each raid by fying squad, and Rs 2 lakh per student if even then anyone was held cheating. The complainant said that half of the total money collected through this above irregularities goes to the minister through Mishra. Sources said that Mehrorta, is now looking into the above charges and would soon serve a notice to Mehboob Ali in this regard.
Meanwhile, NK Mehrotra also send a RsSpecial Report’ to the governor, Ram Naik, in connection with the delay made by government in recovery of money from Ratanlal Ahirwar, the then Ambedkar Gramya Vikas minister in Mayawati government. "I sent a special report to the Governor requesting to order the government to present Action Taken Report in the Ahirwar matter, on the Floor of the state Assembly”, confirmed Mehrota on Monday evening.
It may be mentioned that after finding that Ahirwar was involved in large scale irregularities in use of funds for development of Bundlekhand, Mehrorta recommended recovery of the government money from him during BSP’s regime. later Mayawati, removed Ahirwar and directed the Rural Development Department to recover the money in 2011. However, after four years of delay, the RDD done nothing and now claimed that the fund was related to Public Works Department so it is better that PWD recover the money from Ahirwar. Due to above approach of RDD, Mehrotra reportedly sent Special Report to Governor.
