Three officials of Excise department, a Circle Officer and a Station Officer were suspended for the hooch tragedy in Etah where five persons were killed after consuming illicit liquor. Five others were taken ill and were convalescing at the district hospital.
Circle Officer of Aliganj Asaram Ahirwar and Station Officer of Aliganj police station have been suspended.
Principal Secretary (Excise) Kishan Singh Atoria said in lucknow on Saturdaythat the District Excise Officer of Etah, Excise Inspector and a constable were suspended for dereliction of duty. He said that the state government has ordered for strict action against the erring officials responsible for the tragedy.
Atoria said that Joint and Deputy Excise Commissioners have visited the site of the tragedy in Etah. District Magistrate of Etah has been asked to take necessary action for ensuring relief and treatment of the survivors.
