Blaming the Samajwadi Party government for the death of over three dozen people in hooch tragedy in Etah and Farrukahabad, BSP chief Mayawati said that the officials should be terminated from services for their failure to stop bootlegging.
“The death of so many poor people is a reflection of poor administration of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. As a cosmetic step, the CM has suspended a few officials. This is not enough. the services of these officers should be terminated,” Mayawati said in a statement issued in lucknow on Tuesday.
She said that these incidents are being repeated with impunity only because the government has failed to act tough against the officers entrusted with stopping the illegal trade.
“A few months back, around 50 people had died in a hooch tragedy in Unnao. Then too the SP government had suspended some officials who found their weay back by palm greasing politicians. The CM should take strict action against the guilty officials at the earliest,” BSP chief said.
She also demanded a better compensation for the family members of those who died in the hooch tragedy.
