The transfer controversy took a new turn on Thursday when Fisheries Minister Dr Sanjay Nishad cancelled many transfers, claiming they were carried out in violation of the state government’s transfer policy. Dr Nishad is the president of NISHAD Party, an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“On Thursday, many transfers were cancelled as they were in violation of the transfer policy. A probe has been ordered to find out who ordered the transfers,” Nishad said. He said all the transfers in the department will be carried out as per the transfer policy announced by the state government. These transfers will be transparent and no one will be able to raise a finger, he added.
Dr Nishad’s decision hogged the limelight because it was taken a day after Dinesh Khatik, Minister of State for Jal Shakti, threatened to resign alleging corruption in transfers in his department.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and another minister, Jitin Prasada, had alleged corruption in transfers in the Health department and PWD, respectively.
On the controversy regarding Dinesh Khatik, Nishad said that there are some officers in the government who have a soft corner for the SP, BSP and Congress. “They are creating a rift among the ministers. There is a need to identify such officers and stay away from them,” Nishad said.
