Facing criticism over district officials laying the red carpet during Chief Minister’s visit to districts, Yogi Adityanath has issued strict orders that no 'VIP' treatment be handed out to him during his tour to districts or his meeting with people while he is visiting a place outside lucknow.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, SP Goyal directed district officials that no special treatment, other than protocol, be given during the CM’s visit to the districts. The order further said that the CM wanted that such actions should not be repeated in future.
“The CM is angry with the show-off by the district officials during his visits to the districts. Officials laid out the red carpet, put a towel of particular colour and arranged a particular type of sofa during his visit to meet martyrs' families in Deoria and Gorakhpur,” Goyal said in his order.
last month, when the CM went to meet a martyr’s family in Deoria, the district administration laid out a red carpet, put an air-conditioner, brought special chairs and decorated them with saffron colored tapestry. The same was repeated when Yogi went to meet the family of a martyr in Gorakhpur last week. Both incidents drew flak in the media.
Even on May 28, when Yogi went to Musahar-dominated locality in Kushinagar, the administration distributed soap and shampoo among Dalits asking them to take bath before meeting the Chief Minister.
