No post-poll tie-up with SP: Maya

Driving a big hole to Samajwadi Party’s secular credential BSP Chief Mayawati said that for her party Mulayam Singh Yadav is as communal as Narendra Modi and therefore there would never be any tie up between Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party post lok Sabha elections.

"The BSP is very clear it will go for coalition post election with secular parties. For us, Samajwadi Party is no secular outfit. It is as communal as BJP," Mayawati said while answering a question during press conference here on Thursday.

This statement was clear indication of political scenario that can emerge post-lok Sabha election in case of fractured mandate. The BSP Chief till date is committal to form government without the support of NDA and UPA, and in this list she adds Samajwadi Party too.

"It is a well orchestrated design to divide the society on religious lines during elections. The BJP and the Samajwadi Party are the two major players who stand benefited by this game. BJP’s prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi contesting election from Varanasi and Mulayam Singh Yadav going to Azamgarh is clear signal that these two parties are hand in glove with each other. These two parties want to divide Hindu and Muslims for political gains. They did it in Muzaffarnagar and now they want to replicate the same formula in eastern UP," Mayawati said.

She declared that BSP will foil the nefarious design of these two parties. Instead of corruption, poverty and inflation the political parties are now talking about communal and secular forces. This is being done to sow the seeds of suspicion among the minds of the people, she said.

"I appeal to the people to vote for development of the state. I request the voters to shun these communal parties and vote for the party that can help in improving their lives," Mayawati said.

The party, which does not issue manifesto, released a booklet carrying an appeal to the voters.

Mayawati will start her election campaign from March 22. In the first leg the party will tour constituencies of central and south India. Her UP’s election campaign will start from April 3 and will continue till May 9.

"I will devote 90 per cent of my time in Uttar Pradesh," Mayawati said.

Party’s national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra told The Pioneer that BSP will contest over 450 seats across India. Barring north Indian states we are contesting across the country. "We are expected to do well in Madhya Pradesh and some of the states in the South," he said.
