Giving a clear cut message that criminal and mafia had no place in the Samajwadi Party, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that he was opposed to the inclusion of Mukhtar Ansari in the party and will continue to maintain so.
"I don't like such type of persons and would not change my attitude on the issue in future," he said. The CM, who is also the state SP chief, said that he was neither involved in nor took any decision in the merger of Quami Ekta Dal (QED) with the SP. The CM's statement came an hour before the crucial meeting of the Central Parliamentary Board of the party.
Speaking at a programme organised by a national news channel in lucknow on Saturdau, the CM also denied any rift within the family over the merger.
"The merger decision was of the party and there is nothing to hide. My uncles and I never cross roads over any issue. Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) has faith in me and they do not object to any of my decisions. Any decision is that of the UP government and not of Chacha- Bhatija," said Yadav
Commenting on the Kairana issue, the CM said the matter was raked up due to competition among news channels and the BJP had cooked up a good story. "People had left Kairana 14 years back but the BJP leader Hukum Singh raked it up to get political mileage," he stated.
Defending the law and order situation in UP, the CM termed that the recent killing of policemen in the state should not be linked with law and order.
"The men in uniform always face such threats during their service," he asserted
