Emphasising on construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president Praveen Bhai Togadia said the country could progress only of it becomes a Hindu Rashtra in true sense with Pakistan as its integral part. “The ram temple will be constructed one day. No one can stop that. But we will celebrate only when Pakistan will be brought under Saffron flag,” Dr Togadia said will addressing a Hindu sammelan here on Sunday.
Dr Togadia said post Agra incident a lot of discussion is going on over conversions and ghar vapsi programmes. “But I want to ask whether there was existence of any Bhukhari or Fernandes around 2000 years ago. The entire world was ruled by Hindus. We should have been 700 crores by now. Only because of conversions Hindu population has gone down. If we don’t react now, after 100 years we may be just 10 crore”, he said. Dr Togadia said in order to protect rights of Hindus for the generations to come, there is a need to recognize India as a Hindu Rashtra.
The other saints and VHP leaders too talked about strengthening Hindus. Their speeches had a communal overtone but they were clear that they wanted more powers for Hindus. Mahant Kanihaya Das of Digambar Akhara of Ayodhya claimed that all Hindu born in India are Ram-zada – sons of Ram. He expresses surprise over the uproar over Shakshi mahharaj’s remark on four children per family of the Hindus. “The country could only be saved on the name of lord Ram as there is demand for construction of massive Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he said. Jagatguru Raghvacharya in his speech said all theories and appeals related to population control are only focused on Hindus. Mahant Suresh Das demanded that the Narendra Modi government should bring a bill against Cow slaughter and for Construction of Ram temple. “Now there is a government of full majority hence people will not listen to any excuses,” he said.
