Seeking to distance himself from the raging controversy over his alleged role in the Mathura violence where over two dozen person including two police officers were killed on June 2, senior Samajwadi party leader and PWD Minister Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday   claimed that he had no relation with Ramvriksh Yadav.  Shivpal Yadav denied charges leveled by the opposition parties about his link with cult leader Ram Vriksh Yadav, who was the prime accused in the Mathura violence.

‘’ I am clean as the river Ganga and have never done anything wrong or illegal or anything which is not in the larger interest of the state and its people,’’ claimed the SP leader who is also the state in charge of the party.  The SP leader is on the line of fire following the BJP president demanded from the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to drop his uncle Shivpal Yadav from the cabinet for his involvement in Mathura incident.

``Some senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party and some other Opposition leaders are linking his name with violence of Jawahar Bagh, Mathura with sly intensions but he neither knew Ram Vriksh Yadav nor had any connection with him’’, claimed the SP leader.  About rejection of PIl filed in the Supreme Court he said he has full faith fare judiciary. ``The apex court has done justice by dismissing the PIl’’, he added. A vacation bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to hear the PIl filed by a BJP leader of Delhi asking the petitioner to approach the Allahabad high court.

Without mentioning the name of state BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya or any other leaders, he said ``many cases are already pending against them who are blaming me for the Mathura violence, those who are blaming me should present evidence or apologies,”.

He added that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh saying about the involvement of Naxalite in Mathura violence. ``If Centre had the information about the movement of the Naxalite from Chhattisgarh to Jawahar Bagh in Mathura then the Union home ministry should have alerted the state government by the Centre never took the pain to inform the state government and now the Union home minister is trying to draw political mileage from the incident in Mathura’’, said Shivpal Yadav.
