No conclusive evidences to make Prajapati get some relief

Mining minister, Gyatri Prajapati, is likely to get some relief at least in connection with on-going probe of disproportionate assets case against him as so far none of the complainants gave any conclusive evidences regarding his property or wealth related to his kin or even to his aides. “In her fresh affidavit filed with the lokayukta, Justice (retd) NK Mehrotra, on Wednesday afternoon, Nutan Thakur reportedly made more emphasis to defend herself on allegations made of her than giving details regarding properties of Mining Minister”, disclosed a sources. “Thakur once again mentioned that she had no details of Gyatri Prajapati’s properties and the list provided by her to State ombudsman earlier, were all based on reports from media or someone else, whom she not even met once”, the source added.

Sources said that now when the first complainant, Om Shankar Dwivedi, already backing out with his allegations against Prajapati, and Nutan failed to give any concrete evidence and the third main complainant, Yashwant Singh, also not providing any vital clue regarding the wealth earned by Gyatri after he became minister, so the circumstances pointed that the Mining Minister would soon get relief, at least in connection with the lokayukata probe of DA case against him. Sources confirmed that there are some evidences regarding illegal mining in the state, but the probe pointed that the said crime had nothing new in it and even similar illegal minings have been also continued under the regime of past governments.

When contacted, Mehrotra claimed that he is still probing the matter on basis of facts which he had with him but he could not go beyond it as so far no direct evidences were provided to him by any of the complainant. He claimed to be waiting for some reports regarding Gyatri’s properties before taking a final call as far as allegations of DA case against Mining Minister is concerned. Nutan Thakur, charges that the Samajwadi Party leaders had made huge wealth had fallen flat when she failed to give any concrete evidence regarding minister’s assets while a witness summoned on her advise also went against her, on last Friday. Thakur, who appeared before Mehrotra, last week, claimed that she had no evidences with her regarding the assets of Gyatri and the properties mentioned in her affidavit were based on the information which she get from Mahendra Kumar. She also added that Kumar could give detail information about assets mentioned by her. However, much to shock of Nutan, Mahendra Kumar, not just denied of having any knowledge about Gyatri’s assets but even went to claim that he not knew Nutan nor he ever talked to her or provided any details on Gyatri’s wealth.

Besides the above, eight more witnesses, which included Hanuman, Sheila Gautam, Dharmendra Prasad, Sangeeta Singh, Sita, Suman Devi, Ram lakhan, lal Babu etc also turned up before Mehrotra on Friday but they all refused to be knowing Gyatri Prajapati. Interestingly, besides showing their ignorance on Gyatri, all witnesses made similar statements that the properties about which enquiry has been made from them, has been purchased with the money which they earned through sale of their other properties. All claimed that the land was purchased by them for farming. Earlier, main complainant, Om Shankar Dwivedi, backed out from charges made by him against Prajapati and he even submitted an application, requesting to withdraw his complaint.
