Hitting out at the Centre, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP-led NDA government was curtailing the state’s fund through Niti Ayog as it was envious of the progress of Uttar Pradesh.
“The NITI Ayog has proved to be a big failure. The Centre has curtailed funds from the state. The Union government says that state’s share has increased after the formation of Niti Ayog. Share of some states might have increased but the fact is UP’s share has gone down,” Yadav said while addressing a public rally in Barabanki after inaugurating development projects on Friday.
The CM inaugurated 101 projects worth Rs 236 crore in Barabanki and also took part in the bhoomi pujan to set up a Mahila Polytechnic in Sulemabad. He also felicitated 2627 people.
"The SP government has worked for all sections of the society. Girls are getting Kanya Vidya Dhan, the women in BPl family are part of Samajwadi Pension Scheme and students have got laptop. Farmers are getting quality seeds, fertilizers and water for irrigation. These are some the welfare schemes launched by the Samajwadi Party government,” he said.
The CM also spoke on the success of Ambulance services and assured people that Dial 100 would be implemented soon under which police car will reach the site of crime within 15 minutes.
When his attention was drawn towards frequent power cuts in Barabanki, the CM said that power availability has improved but it is not enough. "Much more has to be done. Efforts would be made to ensure that people get quality power for at least 20-24 hours," he said.
“What this government has done in four years and a half years, no other government could think of doing it in even 40 years. I am confident that the SP will return to power because people evaluate performance of a government and we have excelled on all fronts,” he said.
This was the first rally of the Chief Minister after the homecoming of Beni Prasad Verma. His son Rakesh Verma, who was Jail minister in Mulayam Singh Yadav’s tenure also attended the function.
