National commission for Women took cognizance of complaint made against Samajwadi Party leader Narendra Bhati, for his alleged objectionable remarks on suspended IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal.
NCW chairperson Mamata Sharma on Tuesday confirmed that the Commission will probe into alleged misbehaviour of Bhati, who enjoyed minister of state status and take subsequently appropriate action in the matter. Meanwhile, Nutan Thakur, the social activist who had confirmed of above action by NCW on her complaint against Bhati said she was communicated verbally that the Commission has taken cognizance of the complaint lodged on Saturday and has sent a letter to Jawed Usmani, Chief
Secretary asking him to present a detailed report in the matter. However, Nutan Thakur showed her displeasure particularly as NCW seek report from the State government which is already involved in harassment and torture of a young and honest lady IAS officer. She claimed that she will again sent a representation to the Commission to make a separate enquiry so that truth should come out.
It may be mentioned that in her complaint against SP leader Narendra Bhati, Nutan Thakur raised objections over the alleged usage of words like "aurat" and "behudgi" against the suspended IAS officer, who clamped on sand mining mafia in Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida). The video footage of the Samajwadi Party minister showed him bragging how he got the IAS officer suspended in 41 minutes.
Meanwhile in another excesses of the state machinery, an eminent Dalit scholar, Kamal Bharti, was arrested in Rampur on a complaint made at behest of Urban Development minister, Azam Khan on Tuesday. Bhatri was held for his alleged Facebook post on suspended IAS officer Durga Sakthi Nagpal. Reports said that Kamal Bharti, author of many books highlighting the problem and grievances of Dalits, in his post said that the Gautam Budh Nagar SDM was suspended for alleged demolition of wall of a mosque. The madarsa was demolished because it was allegedly constructed on the land of a graveyard, sources said. In his post, Bharti said it is the 'will and wish' of the
Urban Development minister Azam Khan which prevails and not the law of the land. Annoyed over the remarks, Azam Khan's PRO Fasahat Ali Khan in his complaint handed over to local police alleged that Bharti had made a derogatory remark against the minister. On the complaint, a case was registered against Bharti at Civil lines police station and he was arrested, police said.
