Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that India's self-reliance on Covid vaccine, personal protective equipment (PPE) kits and sanitiser manufacturing had proved beneficial for the entire world as India, which was once deprived of medical resources, was helping in saving lives around the globe today.

“Our nation attained the resolution of Atmanirbhar Bharat during ‘Amrit Kaal’. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav means the ‘elixir of the energy of freedom’. It means the nectar of inspiration from freedom fighters, the nectar of new ideas, the nectar of new resolutions and the nectar of self-reliance," the chief minister said while addressing a function on Atmanirbhar Bharat in Lucknow on Wednesday.

Yogi further said that great revolutionaries like Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmibai, Veerangana Jhalkari Bai, Uda Devi had worked to carry forward the flame of independence in Uttar Pradesh.

On the occasion, around 51,000 children created a record by performing together, and 21,000 children formed a human chain to give out the message of a ‘United India’.

Paying tributes to the freedom fighters and their valiant spirit, the chief minister said that ‘New India’ was a representation of their vision, which not only helped the other countries during the COVID-19 pandemic but also strengthened itself.

“We are strengthening the concept of ‘Shreshtha Bharat, Sankalpit Bharat’,'' he said.

Yogi said the government was working to raise the standard of living of every needy and poor by providing them houses and constructing toilets for them.

“Facilities such as medical treatment, insurance of Rs 5 lakhs under Ayushman Yojana, free LPG gas connections under Ujjwala scheme are also being given. New India today also ensures a prompt response to any incursion on the country's borders by launching surgical strikes. When 135 crore Indians stay united and speak in one voice, then the New India comes to the fore,” Yogi concluded.
