Apparently rattled over the whirlwind tour of Uttar Pradesh by the prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bahujan Samaj party president Mayawati on Sunday apprehended that the prime ministers frequent rallies in Uttar Pradesh indicated the lok Sabha election ahead of the schedule. The next lok Sabha elections are due in summer of 2019. Mayawati in a scathing attack on the prime minister alleged that the Narendra Modi is trying to create caste and communal divide in the country to win the 2019 lok Sabha elections.
“The BJP appears to be frustrated as the prime minister instead of his development narrative is promoting the casteist and communal narrative and fake news against the opposition parties’’, said Mayawati in a statement on Sunday.
“The speeches of PM at Azamgarh and Mirzapur in the past two days in UP clearly indicates about the conspiracy of the BJP to go for early elections. The use of Triple talaq and other controversial issues in the speeches shows the frustration of the PM,” she said. Besides the opposition going for no-confidence against the government in the Parliament in the coming monsoon session could be another reason for the BJP for early polls along with the elections of three state assemblies –Rajasdthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
The BSP president also claimed that withdrawal of support from the PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir is an important indicator of BJP’s plan for early polls in the country. Mayawati said the failure of the BJP to form the government in Karnataka despite using all possible means has given a big blow to the saffron brigade and they are wary to take any further risks.
Mayawati slammed the PM for blaming the opposition for all the developmental lapses in the country. ”In Mirzapur PM just talked about non performing past governments in the country but he refused to admit the present situation where unemployment and inflation has broken the backbone of the common masses. The PM made fake claims about the performance of his government but omitted the failures,” she said. She said the BJP should have the courage to accept the lapses of the government and how the people of the country are suffering.
