Governor Ram Naik has directed Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to send written reports of incidents related to Mathura violence, exodus of Hindus from Kairana, Dadri lynching and other crimes of serious nature in lucknow recently.

Naik handed out the directive to the CM, when the latter went to meet him at Raj Bhawan in lucknow on Tuesday.

During the one-to-one meet, the CM informed the Governor about action taken by his government on the Jawahar Bagh incident  (Mathura) which claimed the lives of 29 people including two police officers on June 2.

The CM also briefed the Governor on the alleged exodus of Hindus from Kairana, the Dadri lynching and recent incidents of serious crimes in the state capital.

During the interaction which lasted for about an hour, the Governor directed Yadav to send detailed reports on each incident. Rajbhawan has already sent its first report to the Centre on the Mathura violence and now the Governor would be sending his second report very soon.

The Governor asked the CM that to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in future and the state government should probe grabbing of government land from the leval of Panchayat to the Urban Development authority and evict the encroachers immediately.

The Governor, who is also Chancellor of state universities, also discussed the issue of confusion within universities in raising student’s fees.

While in Section 7(14) of UP State Universities Act 1973, the universities have power to raise the fees, Section 52(3)(C) says that since fees is an income of the university, hence it cannot be increased without approval from the state government. The Governor asked the CM to rectify the anomalies.

CM said he told the governor that the police observed restraint to prevent the loss of lives of women and children holed up inside the Jawaharbagh in Mathura.  He said the operation to flush out the squatters was to be conducted after the recee of the area and the attack on the police party was totally unexpected.

He said the state government has appointed one man commission to inquire into the violence in Mathura and the state government would take action against those held accountable by the Commission.

On the exodus of Hindus from kairana in Shamli district, chief minister some political parties for political reason have created this issue. The allegation leveled by the political parties were found to be untrue during the investigations by the police.  CM said some political parties are trying tom draw political mileage from this issue.

Chief Minister to prevent the encroachment on the public and the private land the government has already directed the district officials to take prompt action on the receipt of complaint of encroachment.
