Governor Ram Naik has asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to explain the action taken for administering the oath of office to an SP MlA as minister of state and to a retired IAS officer as member of UP Nagar Palika Financial Resources Development Bboard.
During the last cabinet reshuffle in June, SP MlA from Ballia Ziauddin Rizvi could not take oath of office as minister of state, as he was abroad.
Earlier on July 29, the Governor had written to the CM on this issue. Naik had then asked the CM for the reasons behind the delay in administering the oath of office to the MlA and retired IAS official SP Singh. The term of the incumbent Chairman of the Board, Kapal Dev has expired on July 31 last.
The Governor has also asked the CM to apprise him of the efforts made by the state government for administering the oath of office to the two persons.
On July 14, of the four members of UP Nagar Palika Financial Resources Development Board, three members were administered oath of office by the Governor. Secretary Urban Development SP Singh was to take oath as the fourth member was present during the oath ceremony but did not take the oath.
