Nadda: Party workers main strength of BJP

Published on:

Praising party workers for Bharatiya Janata Party’s superb performance in polls in Uttar Pradesh, party working president JP Nadda said that the present position of the party was only because of the dedication of workers who worked hard to tell people about BJP ideology of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’.

Addressing party workers at BJP state headquarters here, Nadda said that they were the strength of the party.

“This party is lucky to have workers and office-bearers like you, who always think about party first and look for strengthening its base at the ground level. When the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Samajwadi Party joined hands, political pundits had started writing requiem for the BJP. They argued that the combination of castes was against BJP. But our workers proved that in politics, chemistry matters more than mathematics. You all worked tirelessly with the people at village level by educating them about the policies of the Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath governments,” he said.

Nadda took the opportunity to tell Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his two deputies Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya to reward the workers for their hard work. The hint was enough to suggest that they should be accommodated in the government, one way or the other.

Nadda also held a meeting with senior office-bearers of the state unit of the party, including state president Mahendra Nath Pandey and organisational secretary Sunil Bansal. The leaders discussed the membership drive which the party will launch from Saturday.

Sources say that issues like cabinet expansion and election of next BJP state president were also discussed in detail.

“The expansion of Yogi cabinet is likely after the monsoon session of state legislature beginning from July 18. Nadda has probably given some directives to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath about this,” sources said.

It was Nadda’s maiden visit to Lucknow after being elevated as working president of the party. Senior BJP leaders of the state reached CCS Airport in Amausi to receive Nadda and the road from airport to BJP state headquarters was chock-a-block with enthusiastic workers. Shouting slogans and waiving party flags, they showered flowers as Nadda’s car moved ahead.

At each crossing, BJP leaders and ministers welcomed the BJP working president.

“It was a tumultuous welcome of Naddaji. Party leaders from all over Lucknow came to receive him,” said BJP spokesman Manish Dixit.
