Nadda: Being criminal is main criterion for getting SP ticket

Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda attacked Samajwadi Party, alleging that the main criterion to get SP ticket was to be a criminal.

Nadda said, "Our government worked for the development of all. Have you forgotten the Muzaffarnagar riots? Then the Supreme Court had observed that the state government had failed and was working in the interest of one side.”

He further said in 2007, there were riots in Gorakhpur and the accused was caught by the NIA but Akhilesh Yadav closed the case and the criminal was freed.

"When Rampur's CRPF camp was attacked, the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav withdrew the case and the court reprimanded him. Then the case went on and the culprits were punished," he said in Moradabad.

The BJP president charged that the first condition to become a worker of Samajwadi Party was to be a goon.

Attacking the SP, he said some people were trying to give electricity for free but they should be asked whether they gave 24-hour electricity during their tenure.

"We only work for development. Only BJP leaders can say that they did what they said. The credit for this goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who developed a work culture. Following in his footsteps, every leader works for development.  The issue of election is also development itself. People used to laugh at us when we talked about opening Jan Dhan accounts, but we did it. Accounts of 40 crore people were opened. Ayushman Bharat is the largest health programme in the world. Today every poor is covered by a health scheme of Rs 5 lakh," Nadda said.

He said the opposition plan was to take possession of the land not to give houses like the BJP did.

"The Ujjwala scheme was also ridiculed by the opposition. Those people who eat with a silver spoon do not even know India, how can they then understand the pain of women of the village, but today there are gas stoves from house to house. Besides, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was ridiculed," he said.
