Mystery shrouds over death of a girl whose half burnt body has been recovered lying unclaimed at Barkhuddarpur area of Dolna in Kansganj district, on Saturday morning. local police which rushed to the spot did not ruled out the possibility of a rape and murder or it was a case of honour killing. They sent the body for autopsy test and trying to maintain the identity. 

Reports said that the body of girl, who was about 20-year-old was recovered the agricultural field near a canal. The circumstantial evidences suggested that the girl was killed somewhere else and later her body was dumped at the spot and to conceal the crime, the killers burnt the upper half portion of the body. Further investigations are on in the matter.

Meanwhile in Saharanpur, family members of a gangrape victim threatened to sit on fast unto death in front of the District Magistrate’s residence from July 10, if the authorities failed to arrest the culprit involved in rape. The victim’s family had already lodged an FIR against some accused at the Sadar Bazar police station on June 25 but police was yet to arrest the culprits. The mother of the victim, talking to reporters in Saharanpur on Saturday, alleged that priest of the Mission compound (Church) along with some others were involved in raping her daughter for several days, who worked there as a maid.  

She said after lodging the FIR, the victim has also recorded her statement under section 164 of the Cr PC before a magistrate, but still the authorities are delaying the arrest of the culprits,” she said.  The family members have also informed District magistrate Sandhya Tiwari about their plan to sit on fast unto death in front of her residence, if the concerned people are not arrested immediately. The family members also apprehended threat on their lives by the accused people.
