Mystery shrouds over death a 22-year-old youth

Mystery shrouds over death a 22-year-old youth whose body has been found hanging with the ceiling of bathroom of District jail in Badaun on Saturday afternoon. The youth was arrested just two days back by the local police who claimed him to be involved of kidnapping and rape of a minor Dalit girl. A case has been registered and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. A magisterial enquiry has been also ordered in the matter.

Reports said that Ramesh, a resident of Allahapur in Myau area of Badaun was arrested only two days by local Civil lines police in connection with abduction and rape of a minor girl on Thursday. On Saturday afternoon, jail staff found his body hanging with the ceiling. They suspected that he committed suicide. Jail staff later informed the incident to  District Magistrate incharge Udayraj Singh, who ordered a magisterial enquiry and also get a case registered in the matter.

Meanwhile in a separate incident in Mirzapur, a 35 year-old woman and her threechildren were killed in a fire that broke out in their house under mysterious circumstances on late Friday night. Rekha and her three sons, aged between 4 and 8 years, were asleep last night when the incident took place in Katra Gadhchirauli village. The victims’ family cremated the bodies without informing the police, the local police maintained, adding that they reached the spot on being informed by villagers about the mishap. Probe has been initiated into the case.
