Mystery shrouds the death of a Non-Resident Indian's (NRI) wife and her three daughters whose bodies were recovered from their home in Maurawa locality of Unnao on Wednesday afternoon.

SP of Unnao, Neha Pandey said that the bodies of Sarita (40) and her three daughters Monika (21), Mohini (14) and Ashta (8) were recovered by the police from their house.

Sarita's husband, Manoj is an NRI and is working along with his son in Kuwait. Further reports were awaited and the bodies were sent for autopsy.

Preliminary reports suggested that the woman and her kids had consumed poison but no suicide note was recovered. The deceased had not come out of their house since Monday.

A neighbour informed the police about foul smell emanating from the house after which the police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
