Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party outreach programme towards Muslims, Samajwadi Party’s Sambhal MLA Iqbal Mehmood claimed that Muslims would never vote for the BJP as they could never trust people who worshiped Nathuram Godse, the man who shot Mahatma Gandhi dead.
He also accused All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen led by Asaduddin Owaisi of being the B team of the BJP.
Referring to the recent convention of the Pasmanda Muslims organised by the BJP in Lucknow, Mehmood said, “A true Muslim can never vote for BJP. This is because the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh can never be faithful to Muslims. Muslims can never trust people who worship Godse, the killer of Mahatma Gandhi."
Regarding Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati, he alleged that she was scared of central agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate and that was why she never spoke against the BJP.
“Samajwadi Party is the only party that is fighting the BJP," he claimed.
