The controversy within the Muslim leaders over Ayodhya issue refuses to die, with the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board lodging a police complaint against the All India Muslim Personal law Board (AIMPlB) Spokesperson under sedition charges, for giving an anti-national statement.
Wasim Rizvi, Chairman of the shia waqf board in a statement here on Thursday said that he gave an application to the Hazratganj police station in lucknow on Thursday, for lodging an FIR under Sections 124A, 153A, 153B and 298 of the IPC against former member of the AIMPlB Maulana Sajjad Nomani for his statement in Hyderabad on February 9 during the meeting of the Board.
According to the complaint, Nomani had reportedly said that the condition of Indian Muslims was like Rohingya Muslims and now, the Muslims in India were getting firearms training to deal with the situation. “The AIMPlB leader, who gave this statement before the media, had also claimed that he has photograph of his claim about the arms and training in all districts of the country,” said Rizvi in his statement.
“The statement is anti-national and he should be booked under sedition charges,” Wasim Rizvi. Police, however, said that they are probing the matter.
Meanwhile, Rizvi said that when hardliner Muslim leaders were not ready for a consensus on Ayodhya issue, then the matter should be left out to the court.
“We have already given a proposal for a Mosque in lucknow as no Mosque should be built within the 14 kosi parikarma area of the Ayodhya,” he said, while adding that the Muslims should drop their claim on Ayodhya and hand it over to the Hindus for construction of a Ram temple.
