Buoyant at the success of the party in the recent by-polls Samajwadi Party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav reviewed party’s performance with a focus on reasons of party’s loss in three Assembly seats.

The SP candidates of Noida, lucknow (east) and Saharanpur (Sadar), who lost the bypolls were present in the review meeting. “It would have been better had we won all the seats in the bye-elections. It would had sent a warning signal to the communal forces who misled the people in lok Sabha elections by promising moon,” Yadav told the party leaders.

In a pep talk he told the leaders who lost elections that they should not feel dejected. The victory and loss are two sides of the same coin. If today you have lost the election, tomorrow you are bound to win it,” he said.

later talking to reporters, UP Health minister Ahmed Hassan and Backward Development Minister Ambika Choudhury said the party president sought details about the reason behind the defeat and asked all the leaders to put aside their dejection and strengthen the party base in those areas.

“Yadav has directed all the leaders to strengthen the party’s base in lucknow, Noida and Saharanpur so that in future party gets success in the elections,” the Ministers said. SP had won eight out of the 11 Assembly bypolls in UP along with the lone Mainpuri lok Sabha by-elections last week.
