Samajwadi party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav held separate meetings with senior party leaders, MPs and legislators and candidates
for the forthcoming lok Sabha elections and asked them to improve party’s image among the public.

“Party’s image has got a beating in last few months because of our failure to popularize the good work done by the Akhilesh Yadav
Government. This has to change. Tell the masses that Samajwadi party is the only party in UP that does what it promises,” Yadav said the party leaders.

This was full-fledged exercise carried out with an aim to streamline the working. last Sunday the Yadav clan including Mulayam Singh, Prof Ram Gopal, Shivpal Singh and Akhilesh held a meeting and discussed party’s and government’s performance. Sources said in the meeting it was decided that leadership should have a one-to-one talk with party leaders.

Party sources told The Pioneer here on Wednesday that Yadav Sr. held district-wise separate meetings with leaders. At least sixteen party candidates for lok Sabha were warned for not working as per directives. They were told in no uncertain terms that if they fail to deliver, their candidature would be changed.

“Netaji (as Mulayam Singh is called among party workers) asked party workers, legislators and MPs the problems they were facing. Then he
told them about his feedback about their working. The leaders were pointed out by name and asked to improve their working,” a senior
leader, who is also legislator, told The Pioneer. It was decided that legislators, MPs and senior party officials should now work hard to convey the message of good work being done by the Akhilesh Yadav Government. They were also given talking points like fulfillment of promises party had made during election, implementation of development schemes for minorities and implementation of pro-farmer projects.
