After being in hibernation for the last three months, Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav bared his heart at a funtion in Mainpuri on Saturday terming son Akhilesh as `most untrustworthy person’. Yadav Senior did not stop at that and went on to enquire, “Jo apne baap kaa nahi hua, woh kisi aur kaa kya hoga (one who is not loyal to his father, how can he be loyal to any one).
Mulayam was in Mainpuri to inaugurate a hotel built by SP leader Totaram Yadav. Totaram Yadav was booked for booth capturing during Panchyat elections in Mainpuri in January 2016.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also said this about Akhilesh during the campaign of Assembly elections that he has ditched his father. It was Akhilesh who gave the opportunity to Modi and the statement had a huge impact on the electorate.Result - we badly lost the elections. Akhilesh has the intelligence but lacks the votes, peoples support,’’ said Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“I can no longer trust Akhilesh. I will go to the people and trust the common man only. My near and dear ones insulted me. Who could I go for complaining. Two persons insulted me and you all know who they are,’’said the SP patron.
``Enough is enough. I have suffered enough humiliation in the last couple of months. Now I will go to the people and take all important decision as per their wishes and sentiments,’’ stressed Mulayam Singh.
“Never in the country’s history has anyone named his son the Chief Minister despite being active in political life, like I did. The people voted for me to become Chief Minister in 2012. But I annointed Akhilesh to the top post. But he humiliated me thereafter. I have never been insulted so much in my life,” rued the veteran politician.
“Akhilesh sacked his own uncle Shivpal Yadav from the cabinet and expelled Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh from the party. He did not even bother to consult me before taking the drastic decisions. I did not say anything to anyone as my blood was against me,’’ said an exasperated Mulayam.
launching a direct attack on Akhilesh for stitching a pre-poll alliance with Congress, the SP patron said, “Akhilesh entered into the alliance with Congress against my wishes. The same party engineered three fatal attacks on me but I survived. It was a tragedy that Akhilesh decided to join hands with the same Congress.’’
