Mulayam camp also apprehended that the state government will deny the permission for the convention at the Janeshwar Mishra Park, which is under the control of the lucknow development authority. Mulayam camp also considered the option of holding the convention in Delhi. Apprehending poor turnout and subsequent loss of face the idea was dropped.

Following the convention on January 1, and election of Akhilesh Yadav as national president, Mulayam Singh is now isolated in the party as his kins and colleagues have joined the exodus to join the Akhilesh Yadav camp. Akhilesh Yadav emerged as triumphant on Sunday after his election as the national president of the party. After Akhilesh sacked his uncle Shvipal Yadav as state president of the party and `elevated’ the status of his father as `margdarshak’ of the party, a clear picture emerged from the fact that the duo were not able to do anything to revoke the decision that were announced by Ram Gopal Yadav at the convention here on sun day.
