Playing the Muslim card once again, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav said that if required, the next third front government would make necessary amendments to the Constitution to provide for reservations to the minority community.
“The Muslims have shed their blood for the development of the country but are deprived of the honour they should get. They are still not part of the mainstream of development. If need be, the third front government will make amendments in the Constitution to improve the share of minorities in nation’s development,” Yadav said while addressing rallies in Firozabad and Etah on Sunday. Yadav said that Congress would be wiped out in this election while the Bharatiya Janata Party would crush under the weight of its own contradictions.
“The BJP leaders are annoyed with Narendra Modi and they are not ready to accept him as a prime minister,” Yadav said and added: “The situation of the BJP is not good, as opposition to Modi is gaining ground day by day. There is internal split in the BJP and it will never be able to touch the figure of 272 seats in the lok Sabha election and so Modi will never become a prime minister.”
The SP supremo addressed the rally in Firozabad in support of his nephew, Akshay, who is son of Ram Gopal Yadav and is contesting his maiden election. “A third front government is coming to power at the Centre. The so-called hype of BJP has blown over,” he said. Accusing the Congress of promoting inflation, corruption and misrule in the country, Yadav said it would perform badly in the election and its existence would be at stake.
Asserting that the SP would emerge as the largest party in UP by winning the highest number of seats, Yadav said his party would play an important role in the formation of the third front government at the Centre. Yadav, who is contesting from Mainpuri and Azamgarh, was confident that he would be elected from both the seats. He claimed neither the BJP nor the Congress would get majority in the lok Sabha election.
SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav also addressed the rally. He said only the SP could prevent Modi from becoming prime minister of the country. He said the third front would form the next government at the Centre and the SP would get the highest number of seats in lok Sabha.
