Playing the caste card Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Tuesday that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite being from the OBCs community, the upper castes continue to rule the roost who has traditionally ruled the country. Mulayam Singh claimed that SP has always fought for the uplift of the OBCs and it will continue to fight for their emancipation.

``I am  happy a leader from the OBC’s is the prime minister of India, but no fundamental changes have occurred in the power structure of the country in last two years’’, said the SP chief here addressing a meeting at the party office to commemorate the anniversary of Maharaja Nishad Raj and Maharishi Kashyap. The OBCs castes like Nishad, Manjhi and Kashyap worship the two sages as the hero of their community.

``Samawjadi party has always fought for the rights and privileges of the OBCs. I am doing this thing when I was a teacher. I helped poor students in waiver of their fee and financial assistance to them to continue their studies’’, said Mulayam Singh.

``The Samajwadi party government is the result of my relentless struggle for the OBCs. This is the fourth government of the Samajwadi party, but first to complete the five year term in office. If Nishad, manjhi and others wants to achieve political power then they should join hands with the Samajwadi party’’, said Mulayam Singh Yadav. `` I advise you to stop identifying yourself with different caste surnames and all should write Nishad. Yadavs too were divided into many sub castes, acting on my suggestion they all started identifying themselves as Yadav and today they are a big number which is very significant in parliamentary democracy’’, said the SP chief adding `` if you gain in numerical strength and become a sizeable community then all other political parties will woo you’’.

SP chief said `` to show your strength start making preparations for the march to Delhi and mobilise numbers so that the streets are choked’’.

Mulayam Singh Yadav attacked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BSP president Mayawati for sabotaging the efforts of the state government for the inclusion of the 17 Most backward castes in the list of schedule castes. The 17 castes also includes Nishad, manjhi and Kashyap. ``Mayawati prefers to call her as `dalit ke beti’ but when in power she works for protecting and advancing the interests of the elite and capitalist class.  ‘Dalit ki beti’ has always worked against the Dalits and backwards and promoted the upper caste and now it is up to the backwards and the Dalits to teach her a lesson’’, said the SP chief.

``During the previous SP regime when I was chief minister UP government had sent the proposal to the Center for the inclusion of 17 MBCs in SC category but the then Congress led UPA government rejected the proposal and it was ultimately thrown out of office. The present NDA government has the same stand on this issue and it will meet the same fate’’, said Mulayam Singh Yadav. SP chief claimed that the CBI has now given him the clean chit in corruption cases. ``The CBI first investigate into my wealth and assets  then they also investigated my relatives and finally they concluded  that no evidences were found, so the CBI has certified that  that I am a honest person and there is no case against me’’. He added ``   there was no need to be scared of from the CBI, you only need to keep your records and documents in order’’.

SP chief lahsing out at the prime minister said `` the nation feels cheated as the people  were taken for a ride by the false promises made by Narendra Modi  during the 2014 parliament elections, the unemployed youth neither got the jobs nor the people got Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts as promised by Narendra Modi’’. Referring to the incursions by the Chinese army in Jammu and Kashmir, Mulayam Singh Yadav said `` the NDA government has failed to get the area in laddakh vacated which is under illegal occupation of China, when  the prime minister  Narendra Modi was shaking  hands with the President of china last year, the Chinese army  was intruding into Indian territory’’. SP chief claimed that the ``Chinese army retreated only after the strong protest mounted by the Samajwadi party’’
