Continuing with his attack on Congress-led UPA Government Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said that there was always a foreign intrusion when Congress remained in power.
'' The recent intrusion of China into 10 kilometer inside of India in laddakh region proves that the present government has failed to protect the international border.
We do not need a government which can not protect our international borders,'' he said.
Addressing a function on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Virendra Bhatia at the party office here on Sunday Yadav said that it is not only intrusion during
Congress-led government’s tenure that is matter of concern, it has also failed to make its mark in the international areana.
''India is doing nothing to prevent China from constructing three dams on Brahmaputra river. These dams will inundate large swath of land in Indian side certainly creating problems for the people,'' he said.
''It is the wrong foreign policy of the Congress government that has turned all our neighbours, who were at time friends with us, into foes,'' he said.
The SP leader said that the UPA-II government has failed miserably in all fronts.' 'Even after bumper sugar and wheat production, the prices of these items are going up. Why this is happening. Government should distribute free wheat to the poor,'' he said.
Expecting that no party will get majority in the forthcoming lok Sabha elections, Yadav said SP will certainly play an important role in the formation of the next government at the Centre. "Without our help no party or alliance will be able to form government," he said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and SP state president Akhilesh Yadav also addressed the gathering saying that his government has done enough for the lawyers of the state,.
He also asked the lawyers to support the party in a bigger way so that SP gets major share in the lok Sabha elections.
