In a tragic incident reported from Pratapgarh, a mother and her daughter, both blind, were burnt alive when their house caught fire in Kohodor area of the district on Thursday night.
Reports said that the incident occurred at Parsupur Katari village where Kripali(62) and her daughter Prema Devi(35),both blind were sleeping inside their house when it caught fire. later the villagers tried to save both the mother and her daughter but they died. Reason behind the incident is yet to be confirmed. local police which rushed to the spot sent both the bodies for post-mortem examination and further investigations are on in this regard.
Meanwhile a police constable committed suicide after shooting himself from his licensed revolver in Roza area of Shahjahenpur also on Thursday night. According to Superintendent of Police of Shahjahenpur, R C Sahu, constable Sonu Sharma hailing from Meerut was deployed at Roza police station since past over one year. He was married to Jyoti a year back. He claimed that on Thursday night, some cops heard the gun shot coming from Sonu’s room after which they rushed and found the constable lying in pool of blood. He had fired from point blank range on his temple from his licensed revolver, following a spat with his wife.The body was sent for post-mortem and further investigations are on in the matter.
