Modi's rally a flop show claims Mayawati

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Mahoba (Bundelkhand) was a flop show as the people did not want to further listen to BJP’s hollow promises.

“Modi is once again trying to fool the public by laying stones. But the people will not be overawed as they have not forgotten how the PM had cheated them by promising ‘Achche Din’ (Good Days) and transferring black money into their accounts,” asserted Mayawati.

``During my regime in UP, we sent corrupt ministers to jail and recommended CBI investigations. But Modi, instead of a crack down on corrupt leaders and others who siphoned off funds abroad, has helped industrialists like Vijay Mallaya and lalit Modi,” she alleged.

The BSP chief further charged Modi of forwarding project to his Parliamentary constituency and meting out step-motherly treatment to other constituencies.

“Modi should also look beyond Varanasi, as people wanted development everywhere,” she pointed out.

Mayawati said that projects launched by Modi during his visit in Mahoba were already in progress and the PM just laid foundation stone so that his name could be seen.

“Modi has his eye on the coming Assembly polls, so he is doing politics over foundation laying. like the Congress, the BJP too is doing nothing concrete for Bundelkhand’s well being,” she charged.

Mayawati also said that the BSP is known for taking tough action against criminals and as result they sent Raja Bhaiya, Uma Kant Yadav, Atiq Ahmed etc to jail along with Varun Gandhi, who was arrested for fuelling communal hatred.

“But neither the BJP nor the SP have taken action against mafia and criminal elements,” she said.
