Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma attacked Narendra Modi calling him a big liar and most arrogant politician of the country. He said that Modi had not replied to a single media query in his political career and that Modi’s one to one interview recently on channels has been `fixed’.

``The Party which even failed to draft their manifesto of their own have been talking of changing the life of every citizen which is a biggest lie’, asserted Anand Sharma, while claiming that besides all the other announcements which are just a cut and paste of Congress’s manifesto, the BJP’s promise of changing more than 50 towns as City has been already implemented by Congress led government by pumping in several million crores to establish National Investment Manufacturing Zone. He claimed that under the said project that would make several Industrial Corridor which would ultimately led to development of 100 of towns so BJP is just highlighting the project of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) claiming to be their future master plan. Taking on Narendra Modi, union minister said that if Gujrat chief minister was so successful, than why he never faced media query in his entire political life. Exposing the truth behind Gujrat Model, Anand Sharma said that the example of democracy and freedom of fourth estate in Gujrat can be gauged by the fact is that entry of media in Assembly is banned and the House is just have a sitting of 23 days in a year out of which the opposition members in the House faced suspension for 15-days. He said that the growth and prosperity of Gujrat Model is also exposed by the fact that per capita income in the country is lowest in Modi’s home state i.e Rs 2442 per month. He claimed the same in the country is Rs 24000 per year when UPA government came to power in 2004 and presently it rises to Rs 60,000.

He said that as far industrial development is concerned, Gujrat is sixth state from bottom in the country in terms of manufacturing goods. Similarly 27 out of 1000 students left studies at primary level while malnutrition figure in 44 per thousand. He cited many more examples of how Modi attacked the freedom of citizens under `Gujrat Model’ by getting the phones of his opponents, bureaucrats, judges, and other prominent persons tapped. He also attacked Modi on his comments of cleaning the political system. ``The leader who gave tickets to maximum criminals and corrupt leaders is talking of changing the system”, Anand Sharma cited saying that it was yet another big lie of Narendra Modi who wanted to divide the society on basis of caste and religion.
