All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and incharge of UP Congress, Madhusudan Mistri termed Narendra Modi as a candidate of corporate world and condemned the `Gujrat Model’. ``Narendra Modi is a candidate of corporate world andmedia has just made hype about him", termed Mistri when asked whether he see any threat from Narendra Modi who took charge of their main rivals- Bharatiya Janta Party.
Mistri was talking to media persons soon after meeting the party leaders here on Friday evening. Coming down on Gurjat Model, Mistri said that he paryed to God that no other state should go through it. ``Whether it was industrial development, agriculture sector, primary education, Gujrat stood far behind in comparison to other states and in poverty, malnutrition, even UP and Bihar are far ahead of it", claimed Mistri while out rightly rejecting any threat from Modi or his Gujrat Model. Mistri, who also hails from the Modi’s home state not even spared Gujrat’s chief minister emissary, Amit Shah, who
too was made BJP’s incharge in UP. ``There in no comparison between me and Amit. He was a involved in killing of innocent people and fake encounter and had came
out of jail", pointed Mistri adding the people of UP know well everyone. On the so-called good governance of Narendra Modi, Congress leader charged ``home minister,
IAS and IPS officers of the the department which is headed by Gujrat Chief Minister goes to jail and still people talk of good governance." He said that he know strategy of Modi and his team very well and sees no threat from them and even went on to challenge the Gujrat chief minister to win Parliament elections. When asked whether he sees internal fighting within the Congress particularly in wake of statement of given by
Beni Prasad Verma earlier this week as any major concern for him, Mistri denied of any conflict and said that he already clarified about Union Steel Minister’s statement in New Delhi on Thursday. In presence of Nirmal Khatri, AICC general secretary said that they will work as a team and will interact with each and every leader during his two phases visit to the State (Jule 9 to 14 in Eastern and Central UP and from July 18 to 24 in Western UP and Bundelkhand region). He said that after discussing the local
issues and other suggestions, he will plan out a `Blue Print’how to ensure maximum seats in the next Parliament elections. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi had already given
some tips about how to strengthen the Party but he will not revealed the strategy. About failure of Party in Assembly elections, Mistri said that trend in Parliament and
Assembly elections are entirely different as lok Sabha elections are dominated by national issues while local issues play vital role in Assembly polls. Mistri who was on maiden visit to the State after becoming incharge of the Party affairs speak very high of UP. ``This state has given maximum leaders to the Country lika Pandit Jawahar lal Nehru, lal Bhadhur Shastri, Indira Gandhi etc and played a key role in development and progress of the nation. I am proud that I was given the charge and hope that I could live to the expectation of the high command",
Mistri said.
