Mishra claims SP govt failed on development ground

Major announcements on development that are being claimed by the Akhilesh Yadav government were actually conceptualised by the previous Mayawati govenment. The SP government has actually failed and are claiming these projects of the BSP regime as cover up.

This was stated by BSP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Satish Chandra Mishra in a press relase issued in lucknow on Thursday.

"The lucknow Metro - the so-called dream project of the SP regime, was in fact initiated by the BSP government in February 2008. An agreement was signed between DMRC and lDA, a technical survey was done in July 2008 and the project was approved by the lDA in October 2008. In July, 2011, a Detailed Project report (DPR) of the lucknow Metro was sent to the Centre for approval by the BSP government," said Mishra.

"Similarly the Agra- lucknow Expressway was the brain child of the BSP regime and a government notification was issued on April 20, 2008 which said that Expressway was to pass through 14 districts. But the present SP regime changed its route through Kannauj and Saifai and renamed the project," pointed out the BSP leader.

Mishra further said that the Gomti River Front project was also started by the BSP government in September 2008. A Request For Qualification (RFQ) was floated and Asia's largest STP at Bharwara was set up to cleanse Gomti river and beautify the river front under this project.

"Similarly, the lalitpur power plant was started by the BSP regime besides other power projects to ensure 24 hours power to the people of UP. Some other projects started by the BSP were continued but by changing the names like  Kanya Vidya Dhan and Samajwadi Pension Scheme. The SP government also changed the name of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Park to Janeshwar Mishra Park," the BSP general secretary added.
