Unidentified miscreants shot dead a Television journalist in Chandauli and sped off unchallenged on Saturday night. According to reports, the victim Hemant Singh Yadav (45) of Ahikaura village under Ghanapur police station area was employed with a news channel and he used to cover the news of the area.
He was returning to his house when he was shot at his head by the miscreants on the way. The residents rushed to him to a hospital fro treatment where he was declared brought dead. The slain journalist suffered bullet injuries at his chest.
The news of his murder spread like wild fire and police forces led by senior police officials reached the scene. The police combed entire the area and also conducted an intense checking drive but did not get any success. The police believed that Yadav was killed for some enmity he would have with some persons. “It could be professional enmity,” they apprehended.
The police said a case of murder was registered against the unidentified miscreants and further investigations are on.
