A group of miscreants gang raped woman and her 14 year –old daughter before murdering them at their house in Aligarhon Saturday night. They did not spare woman’s 12 year old son, who resisted the miscreants to his bit and strangled him to death also. Police claimed that the victims were killed over a long standing rivalry between them for gram pradhan election and registered a case against the miscreants.
As per reports, the victim lived with her children at a house in Satrapur village under Charra police station area of Aligarh. Around mid night the miscreants stormed their house and overpowered the woman and her daughter who were sleeping in a room. They forced themselves on both the victims and later strangled them to death. Victim’s son who was sleeping in another room heard his mother crying for help and fought with the attackers bravely to chase them away from the scene. Irked over this, miscreants strangled him to death also. One her elder son, who was sleeping in the verandah, cried for help and villagers started assembling the scene. Sensing danger the miscreants fled the scene then.
It surfaced that the woman had a rivalry with Nek Mohammed of her village over gram pradhan election. In the recent gram pradhan election, her nephew Iqbal won the election but was murdered by his rivals including Nek Mohammed on October 4. “After Iqbal’s death, a re-election was conducted and a candidate from Nek Mohammed’s side won the election this time. However, the candidate, who won the election is yet to take oath,” SSP Aligarh Rajesh Pandey said.
The SSP said the motive behind the murder seemed to be the exiting rivalry between the victim and Nek Mohammed families over the gram pradhan election. He said a named FIR was registered in this connection against Nek Mohammed and six his aides. “The case was registered at the complaint of victim’s son.The police had registered case for rioting while armed with deadly weapons, murder, gangrape and also slapped POCSO act on the accused persons. Efforts to nab the prime accused Nek Mohammed and his aides are on,’ he said.
