Apparently vindicating the opposition charges of `jungle raj’ in UP, the Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav many leaders and cadres of the party are involved in land grabbing, extortion, loot ,hooliganism and corrupt activities.  He said the party is losing heavily on account of misconduct of some leaders and causing grave damage to the image of the party.

"I am running the party, so I know about the activities of each and every leader. I don’t want to be more explicit. I express myself through gestures. Many leaders understand and get the message and reform their conduct but there are many who are irrepressible and not willing to mend their ways even as the elections are round the corner’’, said the SP chief while addressing a meeting of the party leaders on the ninth death anniversary of the former prime minister Chandra Shekhar.

SP chief said `` I warn you to mend your conduct and act in a responsible manner otherwise the party will have to get tough with you. If you  are not willing to change then the electorate will reform you and give you a tough lesson in  next assembly elections’’.

SP chief gave the solemn advice to the party men saying ``If you wish then the Samajwadi party can be voted back to power in 2017. If this happens then it will a great achievement of yours. Improve your conduct and behaviour with the common people so that you are voted back to power’’.

Recounting his early days in politics when Dr lohia was spearheading the movement of anti Congressism, Mulayam Singh Yadav said `` in 1970’s it was beyond the comprehension of the common people and political workers that congress could ever be dislodged from power. But we did it as Chowdhary Charan Singh walked out of the Congress and headed the first non Congress government in the state’’.

"For the first time the common people realised that the government can be changes.  Now the times have changes and the common people know that the government of any party can be dislodged. So improve your conduct and change your conduct as per the aspiration of the people so that you are not thrown out of the office’’, said the SP chief.

This was not for the first time that SP chief has communicated his displeasure in tough language. During the last little over four years he has done this umpteen times with little or no impact on the rank and file of the party.

Paying glowing tributes to the former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, SP chief said he was the first socialist PM of the country who had fought for poor and farmers.
