In yet another case of honour killing, a minor girl was shot dead by her father in Aligarh after she refused to end her affair with a youth.

Soon after killing his daughter, the accused called the local police and confessed to the crime.

The incident took place in a village in Thana Barla area of Aligarh.

According to reports, a 16-year-old girl of a village in Thana Barla was in love with a boy residing in the same village. When the members of both families came to know about the ongoing love affair between the two, they opposed the affair and threatened them to discontinue it.

It is alleged that about 20 days ago, the girl eloped with her lover. Due to pressure from the police and family members, both came back to their homes.

Sources said that the father of the girl had given strict warning to his daughter and threatened her to face consequences if she continued her affair. He had told his daughter that her love affair was embarrassing for the entire family. On Thursday night, when the man learnt that his daughter again went to meet the youth, he abused the girl but when she refused to end her affair, he took out his licensed pistol and shot her dead. He later called the local police and informed them that he had killed his daughter.

Circle Officer Abhay Pandey, who visited the spot, claimed that the teenager was pressing her father to get her married to the youth. The body was sent to Aligarh for post-mortem and a case was registered. The accused was arrested and sent to jail.

In another shocking incident reported from Aligarh, a 7-year-old Dalit girl was critically injured after she was raped by a youth.

Soon after learning about the incident, the local police arrested the accused, identified as Talib.

Reports said that last Wednesday, a 7-year-old Dalit girl was raped in a village within the jurisdiction of the Chandaus police station of Aligarh.

The victim’s father stated that his daughter was playing near the home when the accused, Talib, who lives in the neighbourhood, approached and lured her away.

The accused took the girl into the adjacent forest and raped her on the bank of the pond. People working in the forest rushed to the spot on hearing the girl’s screams and on seeing them the accused escaped.

The police reached the spot immediately and admitted the girl to hospital. The perpetrator was also apprehended late in the night after the victim’s relatives filed a complaint.

The condition of the victim is reported to be critical.

Talib was produced in court on Thursday and was sent to judicial custody.

Members of Hindu outfits met senior officials and demanded stern action against the accused and compensation to the victim’s family.

Meanwhile, the bodies of three siblings, who went missing from their house in Manchi police station area of Sonbhadra, were found on Thursday, three days after they disappeared.

According to police, the bodies of two sisters and a brother were found at the foothills of Bhaisgahwa hill on Thursday evening. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem after `panchnama’.

A police spokesman said that Amresh's wife Shehzadi, a resident of Soma village in Manchi police station area, had informed the police about the disappearance of the children only on Wednesday, claiming that her children were missing since Monday. She informed the police that her daughter Krishna (18 years old) got angry and left the house with younger siblings Chandan (4 years) and Ujala (two and a half years old).

Police registered a case and started searching for the children. On Thursday evening at around 5 o'clock some shepherds were passing under the Bhaisgahwa hill, during that time spotted the bodies of the three children and informed the Manchi police station about it.

The villagers revealed that deceased Krishna had frequent disputes with her stepmother, Shehzadi as the latter used to assault them. They claimed that depressed with the behavior of her stepmother, Krishna took both the siblings with her and committed suicide along jumping down from the Bhaisgahwa hill.
