Minister Kalraj Mishra says JD (U) and RJD ill-treated SP

The Samajwadi party’s decision to walkout of the Janata Parivar got an unexpected support from Bharatiya Janata Party as its senior leader and Union Minister Kalraj Mishra said that JD (U) and RJD had ill-treated SP and what the party got in that alliance was peanuts.

“This is unfortunate that Mulayam Singh Yadav was founder of the alliance but both Nitish and lalu Prasad Yadav cold shouldered him. He (Mulayam Singh) is a Swabhimani (self respect) leader and will never compromise on such matter,” Mishra told The Pioneer here on Friday.

He said that Samajwadi Party has a good presence in Bihar. In 2005 assembly elections it has got almost 3 per cent votes and had won 4 seats. “I think Samajwadi Party was not taken into confidence during seat distribution and therefore Mualaym Sinmgh Yadav decided to walkout of the alliance and contest the forthcoming elections alone,’ Mishra said.

When asked about the efforts of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president lalu Prasad Yadav to convience Mulayam Singh Yadav to withdraw his decision on contesting the Bihar polls alone, Mishra said that  the SP supremo is known for his integrity and words. “I think he would not budge from his party’s decision,’’ he said.

SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav had announced to snap ties with the grand alliance of Bihar saying 5 assembly seats given to the party was an insult for party workers.

Mishra, who is slated to visit Bihar for three days from Saturday said that the political situation in Bihar is different this time as people now want development. “The caste would be a factor in this election,” he said.

Union Minister said that the package of Rs 1.65 lakh crore given by PM for development of Bihar has been appreciated by the people. The opposition has tried to call this package as a “re-packaging” but the fact is what Prime Minister had said has been fulfilled.

“The overwhelming crowd in the public rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has also given clear picture that BJP is coming to power in Bihar. large number of Muslim too have supported the party so far,’’ he said.

The Union minister, who is likely to campaign in a big way in Bihar elections, would address assembly level meetings in Bhabua in Kaimur district, Sasaram and Buxar s during his three days tour.
