The Backward class leader is apparently irked with the BJP government’s decision against having any alliance in Urban local Bodies elections.

Rajbhar's attempts to meet BJP president Amit Shah in New Delhi failed to elicit any response which forced him to the take the decision to hold a rally at Rama Bai Ambedkar grounds in lucknow.

Speaking to media persons in lucknow on Tuesday, Rajbhar said that his party had won four Assembly seats out of the eight given by the BJP but in the UlB poll they were contesting alone. "We are forced to to go it alone in the UlB elections and we are ready for that," he said.

A few months ago, Rajbhar staged a dharna demanding removal of District Magistrate of Ghazipur Sanjay Kumar Khatri. Rajbhar alleged that Khatri was not paying heed to the problems of the people.

Only a few days gao, Rajbhar was again in the news when an eight-year-old child died after being knocked down by a car of his convoy in Gonda. The driver alleged that the minister was in the car when the accident occurred, but the minister denied the charges. "My car was not involved in the accident but still I had asked the police to lodge  an FIR," he stated.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered a probe and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased child. later, the police arrested the minister’s driver and seized his official vehicle.

Rajbhar alleged that some officials of the state were tarnishing the image of the BJP government, yet they were retaining important positions.

In another reiteration of a controversial statement, Rajbhar said that FIRs would be lodged against parents who were not sending their children to school.
