The All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has threatened to give a call for Rsmahapanchayat’ in Dadri on October 11 if the state government fails to prevent mahapanchayat given by the BJP at the same place and same date. The MIM said the state government will be responsible for any threat to law and order following the call for the mahapanchayat by their party.
A 50 year old Mohammad Akhlaq was lynched in Dadri following rumours that he and his family were storing and consuming beef. The BJP leaders from Western UP have demanded that the accused in the case be booked under the charges of culpable homicide rather than the murder charges under Section 302 of the IPC. The BJP has also said if there was beef in the house of Mohammed Akhlaq, then the victim is also at fault. The BJP has threatened to give a call for mahapanchayat at Dadri on October 11 if their demands are not met.
Accusing the ruling Samajwadi Party of being hand in glove with the BJP, the MIM alleged that the government is claiming to take action against the accused in the murder of akhlaq, while no action has been taken against the provocative statements issued by the leaders of the Sangh Parivar. Kazi Mohammed Zahid, the spokesman of the state unit of the MIM condemning the Dadri incident alleged that the incident has occurred as the ruling Samajwadi party was hand in glove with the BJP for the obvious political reason of creating polarization of voters on communal lines.
The MIM has also demanded a law for muslims on the lines of the prevention of atrocities on schedule caste for the safety and security of the minority community. The party has made the demand in the wake of the lynching of a Muslim at Dadri in Gautam Buddha nagar district. The MIM said with the sharp rise in the incident of attacks on the muslims and other minority communities across the nation and in particularly in UP, it has become imperative to frame such a law for ensuring the safety and security of the muslims.
