MIM leader lashes out on Mulayam

Published on:

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Musalmeen (MIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi   exhorted the dalits and the muslims to come under one flag to capture power in the state  with the ultimate objective of capturing the throne of Delhi. The MIM leader also launched scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party chief MUlayam Singh Yadav and questioned his secular credentials. He was addressing his second election meeting at Sohawal in Bikapur assembly seat going to by polls on February 13.

Owaisi reminding the dalits about the treatment meted out to Dr Ambedkar during his life time said `` today all the political parties led and controlled by the upper castes are vying for the support of the dalits since they have realized the electoral strength of the community, but the same people and same party humiliated Baba Sahab since he was an untouchable’’.

"Dr   Ambedkar narrated a tale where he used to say that during his childhood when he needed water the upper caste people used to pour the water in his hands from a distance. Even today these people who claim to work for upliftment of dalits and Muslims are actually feeding us the same way. We will no longer allow them to give us water 'upar se daal ke' we will take water with our own hands’’, said Owaisi.

"Exhorting the dalits and the muslims to join hands, MIM leader said `` the upper castes rule the roost since we are divided  so out of power structure   and  we continue to be used by them for their benefit. let’s capture power and be master of our own destiny’’. said Owaisi.

Targeting the Samajwadi party he said `` Mulayam Singh Yadav had promised 18 percent reservation for muslims.  He owes an answer to the muslims as to how many muslims have been recruited in government jobs during the last four years of the SP rule in UP.  Mulayam Singh Yadav should also tell the dalits as to why the atrocities against the dalits have registered a sharp rise during last four years in the state’’.

"Mulayam Singh Yadav  loves to be called as ``Maulana Mulayam  Singh’  yet muslims have  negligible representation in UP police   which is less than 2 percent , while   Inspector and  Sub inspectors from the Yadav community  control almost all the police stations in the state’’, alleged Owaisi. He added `` in none of the 75 districts of UP, not a single muslim was station in charge of any police station’’.

MIM leader also accused the SP government of ignoring the interests of the muslims claiming that ``cases of infant mortality were highest among the Dalit and Muslim’’.

This assembly seat goes to by poll on February 13. MIM is contesting the first ever election in UP and it has fielded a dalit candidate from Bikapur. The SP government in last four years has denied permission to Owaisi to address public meetings in Azamgarh, Agra and Allahabad and several other places in the state.  Owaisi will address one more public meeting in Bikapur on February 7 and on February 11 his younger brother and MlA in Telengana assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi will also address one meeting in this constituency.
