Students pursuing medical courses in the state will have to work in rural areas at least for two years before taking up any other career. A decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting lok Bhawan on Tuesday morning.
Though no official briefing was made by the government in wake of the ongoing Assembly session, but sources confirmed that the government approved the policy of making it compulsory for all MBBS, BDS and other Post-Graduate medical students in Uttar Pradesh to fill a bond of working in rural areas for two years. Their postings will be made in Primary Health Centre (PHC), Community Health Centre (PHC) etc.
Another major decision pertained to amendment in Factory Act for facilitating rapid industrialization in the state. The move was planned soon after the recent Investors Summit in lucknow. To forward financial relief to commuters using CNG vehicles, the state government had cut VAT bringing the price by 10 per cent. After the implementation of new VAT rate on CNG, the prices will come down by about Rs 3.50 per Kg of CNG.
Sources said that the government also made amendments in Uttar Pradesh Primary Education Teachers Services Rule 1981. After this, recruitment of teachers which is made on the basis of merit will be now made simpler.
In another major decision, the cabinet approved amendments in Uttar Pradesh Krishi Utpadan Mandi Adhyniyam facilitating the private sectors to open purchase centres (Mandi). This would help farmers to get better price for their yield as they can sell their produce directly at private purchase centers in order to get better return and also trigger healthy competition between government and private purchase centers. The government also gave its green signal to Power Sale Agreement to UP Power Corporation for sale of Phase 3 and Phase 4 of Solar Energy Corporation of India.
